Although every care has been taken by the Federal Authorities to ensure the accuracy of the information published, no warranty can be given in respect of the accuracy, reliability, up-to-dateness or completeness of this information. The Federal Authorities reserve the right to alter or remove the content, in full or in part, without prior notice. In no event will the Federal Authorities be liable for any loss or damage of a material or immaterial nature arising from access to, use or non-use of published information, or from misuse of the connection or technical faults.

Data protection

Based on Article 13 of the Federal Constitution and the provisions of Swiss data protection legislation, everyone has the right to the protection of privacy, as well as to protection from misuse of their personal details. The Federal Authorities comply with these provisions. Personal details are treated in the highest confidence and are neither passed on nor sold to third parties. In close cooperation with our hosting provider, we make every effort to protect the databases from outside access, data loss, misuse or falsification. No personal details are stored when you access our websites. Our hosting provider’s web server merely registers impersonal site usage data (log files) for the purpose of tracking trends for the Federal Authorities in order to improve the information offering. For detailed informations about Web Analytics please see this link. Site usage data is in no way linked with personal data. There is an exception, namely when you choose to take up contact with us. If you register your e-mail address, the information is then stored in a separate database not connected with the anonymous log files. You may delete your registration at any time.

The Swiss Federal Statistical Office (SFSO) or specifically mentioned proprietary rights holders retain sole copyright as well as all other rights over text, pictures, photographs or other files found on the Swiss Statistics Web site.

Information can be used for non-commercial purposes as long as the source “Swiss Federal Statistical Office (SFSO), Swiss Statistics Web site” and the name of the publication from which the information was taken is acknowledged. All maps are protected by copyright. Downloading maps free of charge from the SFSO Web site does not constitute a transfer of any rights whatsoever. The Swiss Federal Statistical Office, ThemaKart, Espace de l’Europe 10, 2010 Neuchâtel, owns exclusive copyright © on all Thematic Cartography Unit products.

Maps may be used, copied and saved to data mediums for personal or non-commercial purposes or for internal distribution within an organisation. In all cases, mention must be made of the source. For dynamic maps, the date of the copy must also be clearly indicated. The copyright notice © appearing on maps may not be changed, deleted or rendered unrecognisable.
