All information contained in the Swiss Statistics Web site is made available to the general public. However, downloading or printing copies of text, pictures, photographs or other files does not constitute a transfer of ownership rights. The Swiss Federal Statistical Office (SFSO) or specifically mentioned proprietary rights holders retain sole copyright as well as all other rights over text, pictures, photographs or other files found on the Swiss Statistics Web site.
Information can be used for non-commercial purposes as long as the source “Swiss Federal Statistical Office (SFSO), Swiss Statistics Web site” and the name of the publication from which the information was taken is acknowledged. The date when the copy or reproduction was made must always be clearly indicated.
Commercial Use
Prior written consent must be obtained from the Swiss Federal Statistical Office (SFSO), Espace de l‘Europe 10, 2010 Neuchâtel, via e-mail before information from the Swiss Statistics Web site can be used for commercial purposes.
Such consent is only valid when it is obtained in writing from the Swiss Federal Statistical Office (SFSO) before the information is used. Any terms of compensation shall be established in a written contract.
Press releases: When publishing information from press releases, appropriate acknowledgement of the source should be given.
The Swiss Statistics Web site may include to references or links to information created and maintained by other organizations. The present terms of use apply exclusively to www.statistics.admin.ch, not to external Web sites since these sites apply their own terms of use to their content.

All maps are protected by copyright. Downloading maps free of charge from the SFSO Web site does not constitute a transfer of any rights whatsoever. The Swiss Federal Statistical Office, ThemaKart, Espace de l’Europe 10, 2010 Neuchâtel, owns exclusive copyright © on all Thematic Cartography Unit products.
Maps may be used, copied and saved to data mediums for personal or non-commercial purposes or for internal distribution within an organisation. In all cases, mention must be made of the source. For dynamic maps, the date of the copy must also be clearly indicated. The copyright notice © appearing on maps may not be changed, deleted or rendered unrecognisable.
